SKF is a global leader in bearings, seals and lubrication. It has been awarded the Overdrive Award as part of GM’s 30th annual Supplier of the year awards. The Overdrive Award was first presented in 2012. It is a distinction that recognizes suppliers who have demonstrated outstanding achievement within the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain organization’s key priorities. These include safety, sustainability, innovation and relationships.
We are grateful for being recognized for our tenth GM supplier of the year award and the third consecutive year in the Brake Foundations category. SKF received the prestigious Overdrive Award for Sustainability this year. This honor highlights the common vision SKF/GM have to drive climate goals across the entire value chain. They are a valued customer and we appreciate their continued partnership. Our world-class bearing and sealing technologies have been a key component of many GM vehicle programmes for over 70 years. General Motors named SKF a GM Supplier of the year for 2021. This is the tenth consecutive time that SKF has been awarded this award, and the third consecutive time for wheel bearings. In March 2022, SKF honored its honorees with an awards ceremony in Phoenix. The Supplier of the Year award from GM recognizes global suppliers who have met or exceeded GM’s standards and provide GM customers with the best quality products and services. GM awarded the Supplier of Year distinction to 134 suppliers in 16 countries this year.

The 2021 Supplier of Year and Overdrive Award winners were selected by a global cross-functional team based on performance criteria in Product Purchasing and Global Purchasing and Manufacturing Services.
